Ellen received her Ph.D. in 2017 from the University of Washington where she worked on interventions for cardiac dysfunction in aging. As a postdoc in the Jakob lab, she is looking at polyphosphate abundance and localization in the aging brain and how this may correlate with histological signatures of Alzheimer’s disease in mammalians. She also studies polyphosphate in the nematode Caenorhabditis elegans under stress and aging conditions.
