Aaron grew up in El Paso, Texas, a desert town on the Rio Grande river that marks the US-Mexico border. He attended the University of Texas at Austin for his B.S. and jointly attended Emory University and the Georgia Institute of Technology in Atlanta, Georgia for his PhD. Both of his degrees are in Biomedical Engineering. Aaron develops DNA nanotechnology for generating and sensing mechanical forces and ultraspecific biomarker detection.
