Zhiying Ma

Zhiying MaZhiying Ma was trained in cultural and medical anthropology at the University of Chicago. Her work in general explores how the body becomes a site for technical interventions, ethical practices, and politics of governance in contemporary China. Her current projects examine how medico-legal institutions configure the family’s role in psychiatry, as well as the emergence of community mental health in China. She also works on disability rights and medical ethics.
