Benjamin Winger

Appointment: 2015-2018
Ecology and Evolutionary Biology

Winger_BenBen is an evolutionary biologist and ornithologist. He received his PhD from the University of Chicago. A central theme of his research is the evolution of geographic range: Why are species found where they are, and how did they come to be found there? Ben also studies speciation, by combining genomics with fieldwork and museum-based research. Ben’s recent fieldwork has taken place in the Andes of Peru and Ecuador.
